Our customers often ask us at The Mother's Best CBD Wellness if any of our products can help with sleep. Our answer is a resounding Yes! In fact, we have a huge legion of customers that religiously swear by our products as a sleep aid. One of the best parts of our job is the fact that we get to test all of our products in order to make informed recommendations to our customers. As the author of this Blog, (partner and master grower Greg Daughtry), I can tell you CBD works quite well for me as a sleep aid. 

While we cannot make any medical claims about the efficacy of CBD as a sleep aid we get a ton of positive feedback. Yet it might not work for you. Still, we love it when we hear from our customers that they are able to reduce our eliminate pharmaceutical medications such as Ambien or Valium to help with sleep.

Why CBD Over Pharmaceuticals For Sleep?

Ambien and Valium are effective sleep aids from a drug class that help us sleep by suppressing central nervous system activity. The result is we feel sleepy and relaxed. But the sleep comes at a price. These medications are know to be highly addictive and require a gradual increase in dosage to obtain the same results. They are also known to have multiple side effects such as daytime drowsiness, migraines, muscle weakness, constipation and diarrhea. It is also not recommended to abruptly stop taking these medications as often times it will trigger withdrawal symptoms.

Recommendations From The Mother's Best CBD Wellness

First, we recommend a Full Spectrum CBD Hemp Extract an hour before bed. Our customers tell us that a half to full dose of our 1500mg tincture seems to work best. That means 25mg-50mg, or a half to full eyedropper of CBD active ingredient.

Secondly, We also have a new product called our Sleepy Time Gummy that is a broad spectrum CBD product (containing no THC) that also contains a small amount of Melatonin. Melatonin is a natural hormone that helps to regulate the sleep-wake cycle. Small amounts (1-5mg) of Melatonin are beneficial at helping one get to sleep, but tend to wear off after 5-6 hours. That is why CBD might just be a wonderful partner to Melatonin because it tends to stay in your system 14-17 hours or longer depending on the dosage you use and the amount of food in your stomach. The key with CBD is to use it regularly to obtain the most beneficial results.
